As you know, Emma Herman-Smith was a founding member of the Port Edgar Dragons who sadly passed away in October 2014.
Emma's mum Pene was good enough to invite the PED to come along and see an exhibition of Emma's work, a diverse group of pieces never before shown together. These pieces were beautiful, provoking and in a number of different mediums nad showed clearly the spirit with which Emma lived her life. Pene and Emma's sister Melanie, spoke a few words on how the exhibition came to be and encouraged Emma's work to be shown in homes rather than galleries, to be enjoyed and loved as she had loved creating them.
There was a selection from her residency on Mull as well as works created more locally. Funds raised from the sale of Emma's work is being split between Maggies and the John Muir Trust, two charites very close of Emma's heart.
If you have the opportunity, it is being shown at the Gayfield Creative Space until November 22nd.
